Rongwu Zhu received the B.Eng. de-gree in electrical engineering from Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing, China, in 2007, and the Ph.D.degree from the Department of Energy Technology,Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark. From 2011 to 2012, he was a Guest Researcher with Aalborg University. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Chair of Power Electronics, Christian-Albrechts-Universiy of Kiel, Kiel, Germany. His research interests include high-power multilevel converters, non-linear control, dc-grid and wind-farm power systems, and smart-transformer-fed distribution generation system.

Markus Andresen received the Bachelor degree and his Master degree from the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, respectively in 2010 and 2012. Since 2013 he is working towards his Ph.D. at the Chair of Power Electronics of the University of Kiel. In 2014 he joined the HEART project. His research includes active thermal control, thermal modeling and reliability in power electronic converters.

Ke Ma received the B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees from Zhejiang University, China in 2007 and 2010 respectively, and in 2013 he received the PhD degree from Aalborg University, Denmark, where he continued the Postdoc research until 2014. Currently he is an Assistant Professor at Aalborg University with the Center of Reliable Power Electronics (CORPE), where he is the leader of working package 4 involving reliability modelling and design tools development. His current research interests are power electronics technology including reliability in the application of renewable energy systems. In the last 3 years he has contributed more than 40 journal and conference papers including 3 book chapters in the field of power electronics, renewable energy and reliability.

Ph.D. Ma received the Excellent Young Wind Doctor Award 2014 by European Academy of Wind Energy, and he was the receiver of a few IEEE prized paper awards. Right now he is serving as the Associate Editor on IEEE Transaction on Industry Application and the Founder of an IEEE Student Branch at Denmark Section. He was also the speaker at several workshops and conference tutorials.

Tamás Kerekes obtained the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University. The topic of the Ph.D. program was: "Analysis and modeling of transformerless PV inverter systems". He is currently employed as an Associate professor and is doing research at the same institute within the field of grid connected renewable applications. Tamas Kerekes is an IEEE member and is Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics. His research interests include grid connected applications focusing on DC-DC, DC-AC single- and three-phase converter topologies; solid state transformers, parallel connection of converters, current control, MPPT, PLL techniques in the area of photovoltaic and wind applications.

Huai Wang is currently an Assistant Professor with the Center of Reliable Power Electronics (CORPE) in the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark. He received his PhD degree from the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 2012, and B. E. Degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2007. He was a Visiting Scientist with the ETH Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland, from August to September, 2014 and with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA, from September to November, 2013. He was with the ABB Corporate Research Center, Baden, Switzerland, in 2009.

 

Ph.D. Wang’s research interests include the reliability of DC-link and AC filter capacitors, reliability of power electronic systems, multi-objective life-cycle performance optimization of power electronic systems, high voltage DC-DC power converters, time-domain control of converters, and passive components reduction technologies, and their emerging power electronics applications. In the above areas, he has contributed more than 25 journal papers and filed four patents. 

 

Ph.D. Wang is a recipient of six paper awards and project awards from industry, IEEE, and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. He also receives the Green Talents Award from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, in 2014. He serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, and a Guest Associate Editor of several special issues on topics relevant to reliability in power electronics.
