Giampaolo Buticchi was born in Parma, Italy, in
1985. He
obtained his Master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Parma, Italy,
respectively in 2009 and 2013. In 2012 he was visiting researcher at The
University of Nottingham, UK, working on electric actuators for aerospace
applications. In 2013 he worked as a post-doctoral research associate at the
University of Parma, and since 2014 he is at the Chair of Power Electronics of
the University of Kiel, focusing his research on solid-state transformers and
smart-grid applications. In the same years he was awarded with the Von Humboldt
Research Fellowship.
